Ghaziabad, March 14, 2017: As we celebrate International Women’s Day, Columbia Asia Hospitals, Ghaziabad today announced a special campaign on ‘Nurturing Womanhood’ through a series of dedicated programs for women, including a comprehensive maternity care initiative and health screening programs.
In many ways, motherhood is the essence of womanhood, and the nine-month journey to motherhood is among the most fruitful journeys of life. Columbia Venus is a special pregnancy support program that allows a woman to enjoy the experience of childbirth, while everything else is taken care of.
Columbia Asia Hospitals, Ghaziabad will offer this special program to expecting mothers, who will be provided counseling, guidance, support as well as special health services right from conception to pregnancy to childbirth, to make their journey as smooth and joyful as possible. Apart from the Columbia Venus initiative, the Hospital also announced another special program dedicated to women, in the form of the ‘Women Wellness Package’
.
The two initiatives were announced by Mr. Gaurav Khurana, General Manager of Columbia Asia Hospitals, Ghaziabad, who urged women to be more proactive about their health.
“Women’s Day is an opportunity for all us to give back to the women in society who make our lives more fulfilling and beautiful. As a healthcare institution, our observation is that women in India are not as proactive about their health as they should be. The practice of regular preventive screenings is almost absent. At the same time, there is lack of holistic maternity care services for them. Keeping these issues in mind, we are offering two special healthcare initiatives for women of the city on this Women’s Day,” said Mr. Khurana.
International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8 every year to celebrate the cultural, political, economic and social achievements of women globally. It is also a day when we look forward to giving back to the women who have made our lives richer and more meaningful.
“The process of child birth is exciting as well as difficult. Women going through this phase experience a series of anxieties, health worries, and need expert guidance and help at every single step. Through Columbia Venus program, our objective is to become a partner with expecting mothers in their journey towards motherhood. The program will cover all aspects associated with pregnancy, right from pre natal counseling, helping women conceive, aiding them towards healthy pregnancies and helping keep them fit and ready for childbirth. The program takes a comprehensive approach to maternity care and involves expert help from not just gynecologists and obstetricians, but also counselors, psychologists, and fitness experts,” said Dr. Vinieta Diwakar, Consultant Gynecologist, Columbia Asia Hospitals, Ghaziabad.
Apart from the Columbia Venus initiative, the Hospital also announced another special program dedicated to women, in the form of the ‘Women Wellness Package’. The package offers a holistic screening program crafted specially for women, and covering diseases and disorders that are most common in women. The package will include screenings for breast cancer, cervical cancer, thyroid, and bone density.
“Throughout their reproductive years and beyond, women experience a series of health concerns and disorders from hormonal imbalances to brittle bone disease. Unfortunately, the culture of preventive health screening has not caught up among women in India. More often than not, they tend to ignore their niggling health concerns much longer than advisable. Our special package for women is aimed at encouraging women to adopt the practice of regular preventive screenings. Health screenings for breast cancer and cervical cancer are highly recommended, especially to women above 30 years of age,” said Dr. Diwakar.
