INCIDENCE OF LIFESTYLE DISEASES HIGHEST IN DELHI NCR WOMEN

The report identifies five key insights which have been detected by our set of doctors and analysts based on a sample size of more than 1 Lakh diagnostic tests from the Delhi NCR region.

1. 60% spike in depression cases in Delhi NCR women

60% spike in depression cases in Delhi NCR women
One of the key findings which our analysis’s identified was related to the increase in depression cases associated with Delhi NCR women. There was a mammoth spike of 60% in terms of blood tests to check for medical conditions that may cause depression-an underactive/overactive thyroid gland, low calcium and vitamin D deficiency levels. Furthermore, sedentary lifestyle plays a vital role in expediting depression, especially in women.
Overweight women in Delhi NCR, 50% likely to become infertile at a young age
It has come to our notice that overweight women in Delhi NCR have a higher tendency to become infertile at a young age or even before they hit their mid-30’s. Sedentary lifestyle and junk food consumption being the prime reason. Test which should be taken by overweight women to ensure they are note heading into the infertile territory- blood tests to check hormones (Thyroid, Prolactin, Androgen, Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). Physician may also perform tests to measure blood lipid, cholesterol and glucose (sugar) levels.
40% women in Delhi NCR are at the risk of breast cancer
From our research, 40% of women in Delhi NCR are at the risk of breast cancer and the reason can be attributed to lack of physical exercise, drinking alcohol, hormone replacement therapy during menopause, ionizing radiation, early age at first menstruation, having children late or not at all, older age, and family history. For the years 2016, there were an estimated 1,55,000 new cases of breast cancer and about 76000 women in India are expected to die of the disease. According to recent reports, 4% of females belongs to 20 to 30 yrs age group, 16% are in 30 to 40, 28% are in 40 to 50 age group. So, almost 48% patients are below 50. Practically, one fourth (or even approaching one thirds) of all female cancer cases are breast cancers.
35-40 % women in Delhi NCR suffering from Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)
PCOS, is a condition in which a woman's levels of the sex hormones estrogen and progesterone are out of balance. PCOS can cause problems with a women's menstrual cycle, can cause infertility at a young age, promote unwanted facial hair in women and severely impact the overall cardiac health of the patient. Approximately 4 out of ten women in Delhi already suffer from PCOS and there is a significant rise in the number of PCOS related queries from women younger than 25 years.
70% increase in Urinary Tract Infection cases in women (Delhi NCR) in the last 1 year
A urinary tract infection (UTI) is an infection in any part of your urinary system which includes kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra. The most common cause of infection is Escherichia coli, though other bacteria or fungi may rarely be the cause. Risk factors include female anatomy, sexual intercourse, diabetes, obesity, and family history. By analyzing our inventory of cases, there has been an increase of 70% in UTI infections amongst women based out of Delhi NCR. Rates of infection are high in postmenopausal woman i.e. after 48-55 years because of bladder or uterine prolapse causing incomplete bladder emptying; loss of estrogen with attendant changes in vaginal flora
