The British brother and sister pairing of Sam and Daisy Coleman will go into tomorrow’s final race in Mumbai looking for a hat trick of victories in the inaugural NEXA P1 Powerboat, India Grand Prix of the Seas. The Coleman superiority put The Baleno RS Booster Jets team at the top of the table at 59 points with MoneyOnMobile Marlins a very close second, two points behind.
With the Baleno RS Booster Jets and MoneyOnMobile Marlins taking the top two spots, the Llyod Dolphins are in third place with a total of 52 points with both their boats placed in third and forth place after the two races of today.
Mirchi Mavericks & HVR Racing go head to head during Race 1 on 4th March 2017
Sam Coleman, Driver of the winning Baleno RS Booster Jets, was confident that the team would maintain their lead with their clear first position advantage complemented by the ability of CS to drive into amongst the top boats tomorrow. Commenting on their team, Sam shared, “We are a strong team! Daisy and I have a strong understanding of each other where we are never second guessing each other! CS has also been an amazing team mate! This weekend has been his first official race and he is just getting better with every single lap. CS’s fitness levels which are remarkable is also going to be a great advantage.”
It was an afternoon of hugely contrasting fortunes in the two races for the Mirchi Mavericks duo of John Donnelly and Kevin Burdock. Their delight at finishing second in race 1 turned to despair on the last turn of race 2 when they rolled their P1 Panther just short of finishing in third place. With John Donnelly and Kevin Burdock of the Mirchi Mavericks not finishing their race after an unfortunate accident in the last corner of their final lap in Race 2, the Mirchi Mavericks are placed in fifth position with 37 points. HVR Racing who had an unfortunate day on the Sea with their first boat retiring and second unable to start are at the bottom of the pack of the team standings with 19 points.
Race 3 on Sunday, will see the fleet of 12 P1 Panther Boats racing 20 Laps including a start lap and 3 mandatory pit laps to complete the weekend and the champion team winning the inaugural NEXA P1 Powerboat, Indian Grand Prix of the Seas.
