Tata Consultancy Services TechBytes 2017 to commence in March for engineering students
BENGALURU, February 16, 2017: Tata Consultancy Services(TCS), (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS), a leading IT Services, consulting and business solutions organisation, and the Board for IT Education Standards (BITES), an autonomous agency promoted by Government of Karnataka in association with IT industries and educational institutions, are rolling out the eigth edition of the Engineering IT Quiz – TCS TechBytes. The quiz is open for students of engineering colleges (BE/BTech) of all semesters and streams.

Commenting on the program, Prof. R. Natarajan, Chairman, BITES said, “We are delighted to partner with TCS and launch the eighth edition of TCS TechBytes. Students participating in the program can benefit from the technology exposure they gain which would enable them to succeed in their careers.
TCS TechBytes, a campus outreach program strives to provide a better understanding of IT to students of all streams of engineering. The objective is to enhance the knowledge and awareness of students and enable them to compete in the fast paced technology intensive industry.
Each institution can send 10 teams (two students per team) to participate in the Regional Finals of the quiz through an internal selection process. There is no participation fee. The Regional Level Quiz will be conducted at the following six locations: Mangalore - March 2, Mysore - March 4, Hubli – March 7, Gulbarga – March 9, Tumkur - March 14 and Bangalore on March 21. The State Finals will also be held at Bangalore on March 21, 2017.
Winners at both the Regional and State Finals will receive educational scholarships and other attractive prizes from TCS.
Subject: The quiz will focus on application of technology across various sectors and aspects such as: the technology environment, the business, its people, new trends, legends, etc. It will also focus on emerging areas such as: digital, cloud computing, telecom, social media, big data, artificial intelligence, biometrics, mobility and robotics, besides covering personalia – international and national, software products, history of IT and areas where IT has made an impact such as education, entertainment, books, multimedia, music, movies, internet, banking, advertising, sports, gaming, social networking, cell phones, etc.
