January 11, 2017: Trakinvest, India’s first global educational platform for virtual stock trading has launched a campaign to select India’s best talent in financial stock market investing. An interactive educative reality show, broadcast via Youtube and to be held first time in India, will see enthusiasts trade on the Trakinvest virtual stock trading platform over a period of 10 weeks starting February 2017.
TrakInvest is a global educational platform for virtual stock trading providing users with access to 10 International stock exchanges and INR 50 lakhs of virtual money to build a stock portfolio. TrakInvest was built to empower the youth to get that information edge and reduce the information asymmetry for the retail investor. The user can learn how to pick stocks, test his trading strategies and practise investing with virtual money at zero risk before he invests his hard earned money in the real stock markets.
Embarking on this noble vision, TrakInvest has launched two key initiatives this year - the Global Online Trading Certification(GOTC) and The TrakInvest Show - both of which aim to educate and empower the youth populations to the world of stock investing. The GOTC is a three-month online program wherein the user has to learn the theory of stock market investing and apply it to build a winning portfolio on the platform. The course takes you through a series of practical performance challenges that the user completes in order to gain a certificate and a performance report card which can then be showcased at job interviews.
The TrakInvest show, on the other hand, is a reality show competition where users across India can compete to build a winning portfolio. The top 100 performers in the competition get access to global job opportunities across the financial sector. “Good Talent is extremely hard to come by, and I have first-hand experience coming from the real broking world , wherein I have seen dealers, traders and relationship managers asked to leave within 6 months of joining the firm due to non-performance or bad investing strategies leading to a mistrusting customer” says Arjun. He further adds “There is no way to assess the skills of new recruit except of the theory exams or numerous courses that one does before he enters the world of investing. No other platform provides a performance report card of the actual trades and strategies performed by the user. We are helping companies to identify good talent based on actual performance rather than merit of being from a branded school”.
Trakinvest was the primary reason former Managing Director of AIG and JP Morgan Partners, Bobby Bhatia quit his corporate job. Former Head of Religare Online, Arjun Chakraborti join hands with Bobby to build the India business of TrakInvest. Business news anchor & journalist, Abha Bakaya now will join the team to host the Trakinvest Show-All of for one common noble vision - To educate and empower the new-to-market investor.
TrakInvest has been built on 3 key concepts of learn, share and earn. The platform allows a user to learn stock investing in a social manner i.e. learn from peers and take advantage of crowdsourced financial wisdom. When Bobby Bhatia built TrakInvest, little did he expect to get credit from the top global educators - the academicians who came back responding on how this platform is helping users pick up a life essential skill.
Bobby Bhatia said that “TrakInvest is an extremely noble initiative where we are educating new to market investors in a zero risk environment where everything (including the stock prices of 15000+ stocks) is real, except the money that is phantom. I have been on the other side in the real broking world for 15 years and I have seen so many investors lose money and then stay intimidated with this asset class forever - losing so many opportunities just for a mistake committed once when all the savings have been wiped out! Stock Market investing in India is ripe with so many myths, the key reason for the fact that not even 2% of our population invests in stocks as an asset class. With TrakInvest, we want to make a significant contribution towards improving this share of retail stock market investors in India”
