AddressHealth invites applications for The Parikrma Address School Health Awards 2017
Initiative aims to promote preventive healthcare at schools
23rd January, Bengaluru: AddressHealth, a pioneer in primary healthcare for children, announced in Bengaluru today its initiative to recognize the efforts of schools that have understood the need for healthcare facilities within school campuses. The company has partnered with Parikrma Humanity Foundation, a non-profit organization working for the welfare of children, for these awards. There are several awards up for grabs in various categories of school health. Some of the award categories, are -- timely health checkup, child safety, mental wellbeing, health education. These categories are based on school health recommendations by the World Health Organisation.
The first edition of the ‘Parikrma Address School Health Awards’ was held in February 2015, with 70 schools participating.
Elaborating on the objective of recognizing the efforts of schools, Dr. Anand Lakshman, Chief Executive Officer, AddressHealth, said, “We believe that the health of children will need to be addressed at the individual, family and community levels. A health promoting school is one that constantly strengthens its capacity as a healthy setting for living, learning and working. We are here to help, support and felicitate the efforts by schools that have been able to find a balance between academics and good health for children.”
The company is inviting applications from all schools in Bangalore who have made efforts to ensure good health for their students in the school. The objective of these awards is to honor schools that stand out in providing the best of health to their children and to recognize innovative health practices at schools in Bengaluru. The awards would be announced in the last week of February.
The application forms can be downloaded from www.schoolhealthawards.com. The last date for submission is February 4, 2017.
