Do you want to see these popular creation in the form of cake? Visit the annual Christmas and New Year Cake Show which will start in the city on December 16 at St. Josephs Indian High School, Near UB City. The event is held in association with the National Consumer Fair (NCF).
City is gearing up for annual Christmas and New Year Cake Show 2016. This show which has the distinction of India’s biggest annual cake show to be held between 16 th Dec 2016 and 1 st Jan 2017. Cake show timing is 11 AM to 9 PM every day.
One of the highlights of this show is designed and conceptualised by a team supported with 76 year old Mr. C. Ramachandran who is a veteran cake artist and baker. His passion, love for culinary has been there for many decades to now that he supports many young to learn and understand the techniques. He is supported by Manish Gaur – Director, Institute of Baking & Cake Art which is the pioneer in the baking, confectionery and cake art technology. Together with the team of sugar craft artist, trainers and student have achieved these wonderful, yet challenging creation presented to you.
Like previous years this year too the show is brings to you, unique theme cakes which also include Tanjore Painting, Cookie Dollhouse, PIXEL-Beads wedding cake, Victorian Gown, Nefertiti, Shankar NAG, ROYAL Rajasthan - a colorful Wedding Cake, Paired Fish, Cupcake Dalmatian, Peacock, Bride and Groom Wedding cake, Sweet HANDBAGS and many such creations.

London Tower Bridge
Tower Bridge is a suspension bridge in London built in 1886–1894. The bridge crosses the River Thames and has become an iconic symbol of London. This bridge has seen many facelift and helped many cross over via its roadway and walking path. We as Cake artist find this as a creative challenge making this out of Sugar and edible materials. The structure is challenging as it takes time to perfect the design understanding and its execution. We as Cake decorators are patient with our many hours of precise work and adding the intricacy with precision.

Chinese dragons are legendary creatures in Chinese mythology and Chinese folklore. The dragons have are animal-like forms or imaginary, but they commonly are depicted as snake-like with four legs. The dragon is also a symbol of power, strength, and good luck for people who are worthy of it. This Structural Cake and sugar art is an artist dream of self achievement, making a creation larger than life unlike depiction which curtails to smaller format of Theme based cakes. We have depicted intricacy with its facial features and body scales with sugar Fondant dough and food colors.

Aladdin and Magic Carpet
Aladdin is a character from and animated middle eastern folk tale story also having other characters like princess Jasmine, King of Bagdad, and the mighty blue Genie who comes out of the magic lamp. The city of baghdad and the king's castle is depicted with sugar dough with intricacy and color. The hanging magic carpet over the cloud is a structural cake art with the Genie flying into the sky. This cake is made with sugar craft and rice krispy treats.

Jack and the Beanstalk
This is a whimsical depiction of the evergreen story of jack and the beanstalk. This cake brings alive from the pages of the book the stalk that reaches the sky with the ogre looking down. This cake model also depict other elements of the story like the ogre's castle, the golden hen that lays golden eggs, the harp and also the bags of rupees, barrel of silver that jack takes away from the ogre's treasure. Meanwhile down before, Jack's house stands strong beside the beanstalk, symbolizing the victory of wit and daring our disproportionate size.

Once upon a time there lived a poor widow, with her son Jack along with a cow. She asked her son to sell the cow on the way to the market. an old woman offered him a few magic beans in return for the cow. Seeing the beans Jack’s mother was angry and threw them out of the house.
The next day it grew into a giant beanstalk. Jack climbed on the creeper, he found a giant in a castle. he took the giants gold, silver, golden hen, a harp from the castle. the giant spotted the jack and chased him, Jack cut the creeper to escape. the creeper fell down along with the giant and he died. Jack and his mother lived happily ever after with all their wealth.

Tanjore Painting
Thanjavur painting is a classical South Indian painting style, which was inaugurated from the town of Thanjavur. The art form draws its immediate resources and inspiration from way back about 1600 AD with this encouraged art adds chiefly, classical dance and music as well as literature. These paintings are characterised by rich, flat and vivid colors, simple iconic composition, glittering gold foils overlaid on delicate but extensive gesso work and inlay of glass beads and pieces or very rarely precious and semi-precious gems. The cake artist learnt this style and work this master piece with sugar dough, edible gold color, other edible materials and food chemicals.

Cookie Doll House
A typical doll's house is a toy home made in miniature out of wood, fabric, wires and paper. We have made the same with COOKIE and bricked them as lego blocks to depict rooms and floor spaces. We also made a spiral stairs made of sugar dough and lots of miniature doll house themes like sofa, chairs, television, doors and windows, lamps and kitchen spaces. The cookie doll house is a food creation with interior and exterior understanding and showcasing the small format sugar theme.

PIXEL - Beads wedding cake
The pixel (a word invented from "picture element") is the basic unit of programmable color on a computer display or in a computer image. we took the same understanding to depict this wedding cake ideal for a computer geek/s. the small informal sized beads were hand crafted by cake artist over 2 weeks time. the different gradient colors shows the spectrum of love towards the art and the floral sugarcraft breaks the monotony of the form.

Victorian Gown
The Victorian gown was inspired by the costume of Victorian era starting from the 1920’s. Victorian fashion comprises the various fashions and trends in culture that emerged and developed throughout the Victorian era. The period saw many changes in fashion, including changes in styles, fashion technology and the methods of distribution. Since it was a depcition made of cake and sugar art, we used gumpaste dough, royal icing, edible lace, rice krispy, edible glitter and wafer dust to add finishes and features of different texture styles to showcase velvet, imprint fabric, borders, lace gloves, pearl necklace, sugar crown and hair too.

ROYAL Rajasthan - a colorful Wedding Cake
Rajasthan is known all around the world for its magnificent lifestyle and rich cultural heritage. Royalty is a word closely associated with Rajasthan. Be it the culture, food, or clothing, Rajasthan stands apart in terms of style and opulence. No wonder then, the weddings of Rajasthan are a grand affair!
The wedding cake was an ambitious attempt to show the colorful extravaganza of a traditional Rajasthani wedding. Each tier depicts the elements of the celebration, the lowest tier showcases the wedding baraat (procession) and the one above it is a romantic depiction of the groom and bride reaching for a symbolic hand hold. The tiers above go on to depict the initials of the bride and the groom in flowers as seen ubiquitously in Indian weddings. Above this is the intricate Jewelry of the bride and the tradition of the royals to greet the wedding procession from the heights of the palace balconies (Jharokhas). The turban also takes on the traditional bandhej Pattern to flow with the theme this is our attempt to show how much more fun, colorful and creative Indian themed weddings can get.

Peacock
Our very own national bird - Indian Peacocks or peafowl have been domesticated for about 3000 years. A common fixture on zoo grounds, animal parks, and many farms and estates around the world, peacocks are among nature's most dramatically beautiful birds. The feathers of the peacock are composed of many colors, including the crescent sheen of bright blue and green. The shimmering color of the peacock feather is due to a phenomena known as interference. We as cake decorator created the structural sugar-crafted peacock with gumpaste, rice krispy and royal icing finish, adding color to the intricate feathered body and details finish to each and every feather made of edible laceworks.

SECRET Santa and Christmas Gift Cake
One of the main reasons we have the custom of giving and receiving presents at Christmas, is to remind us of the presents given to Jesus by the Wise Men. All over the world, families and friends give presents to each other. Most children around the world believe in Santa giving us gifts that we love or want.
Santa Claus also known as saint nicholas. Father Christmas or simply Santa is a legendary figure of western culture who is said to bring gifts to homes of well-behaved children on Christmas eve and the early morning hours of Christmas day. Santa Claus is generally depicted as a portly joyous, white bearded man wearing a red coat white fur collar and cuffs and black belt. Who carried a bag full of gifts for children. this image became popular in the united states and Canada in 19 th century. We created santa with structural sugarcraft , gumpaste, rice krispy, royal icing and added features of Gift box, Christmas tree, teddy bear and lots more.

Nefertiti
Nefertiti was an Egyptian queen and the Great Royal Wife of an Egyptian Pharaoh. Nefertiti and her husband were known for a religious revolution, in which they worshiped one god only, Aten, or the sun disc. Nefertiti were responsible for the creation of a whole new monotheistic religion which changed the ways of religion within Egypt. The Nefertiti bust was originally created with Limestone has been recreated with fondant sugar dough, rice krispy and royal icing, The challenge was to get the facial feature which was molded, sculpted and carved to attain the finish.

Money TREE - Sweet Demonetise
This cake is our attempt to show the current event that has our country in its grip. We have tried to balance the sentiments of the citizens all over the country. The more to demonetize the 500 and 1000 Rs notes in order to stem the scourge of corruption did not leave the masses unaffected. While the people who loaded black money did have a wake-up call, the sudden turn of events affected those who had small savings as well, the housewives, small time vendors, even honest citizens, no matter their economic status. Thus, it has been an upward struggle, literally therefore, the mountain that has the rough outline of an indian map has many people clambering towards the tree that sprouts the new 2000 Rs notes the fallen notes depict the obsolete 500 and 1000 Rs notes. The tree itself, standing tall with the backdrop of a vibrant horizon depicts the country standing strong and sprouting hope even in the light of the events. The water flowing down depicts the cleansing of the system with the murkier waters being washed away by a cleaner spring.

Bridging the Two (Bride and Groom Wedding cake)
Weddings. What can you say, as magical as they are, they are also whimsical, beautiful and full of promises. This cake is an attempt to depict the coming together of two personalities with a myriad hues. You can see that each side of this cake depicts the hues of the boy's and the girl's life. On one side the groom loves the outdoors and the girl on the other hand loves animals and nature walks. Where the guy is a thinker with a kaleidoscope of thoughts, the girl is a dreamer with just as much of a colorful imagination, and there is the love of sports on one side and on the other side, the love of shopping and cycle rides. We even tried bringing in their work passions, one has his own restaurant while the other has her salon for the love of all things feminine, he loves his comic heroes, she's a romantic movie buff. She loves reading and he loves music, and then they take a leap of faith and walk that bridge to come together in the name of love, honor and trust. We had a lot of fun making this cake. I hope you enjoy it's completion as much as we do.
