India 14 December 2016: In an endeavor to promote, Indian Handicrafts and handlooms and to showcase the rich heritage of India, Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India, A Government of India Undertaking, Ministry of textiles, (CCIE, Bangalore) is organising an exhibition cum sale of Handicrafts and Handlooms from 13th December to 21st December 2016 called "Christmas Carnival" on the occasion of Christmas season at Safina Plaza, Infantry Road, Bangalore from 10.00am to 8.00 pm.
Synonym with its name "Cottage provides an opportunity to about 30 artisans who are state and national awardees from various parts of India who will be participating in this Christmas Carnival who will be representing their regions, to behold the rich and varied art and craft traditions of India's culturally enriched regions, providing a glimpse of their culture and a chance to exchange creativities.
On display are exquisite Jewellery, paintings, Metal ware, Woodcraft, Wood carvings, Art objects, Marble craft, Women's wear, Men's wear, Sarees, Shawls, Dress fabrics. In textiles the rich weaving tradition of India is represented in the wide range of Handloom and Cotton Sarees and dress materials from Jaipur, chikan embroidered kurtas from Lucknow, Silk kurtas, Jackets, Silk scarves etc. to name a few.
This Cottage Celebrates Christmas Carnival is yet another step by CCIE to encourage the craft persons and present their creations to the discerning buyers from all parts of the globe.
