NMMT extends mobile ticketing services on all AC routes to help consumers overcome cash issues!
Mumbai, 21st November, 2016: The story that has kept India under its grips over the last couple of days has been that of demonetization and how people are trying to cope up with the cash crunch while managing their daily necessities and activities.
One of the largest daily spends for the general public at the moment is the cash they use to commute. AC bus travelers in particular have a big problem carrying exact change since Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes have been banned.
Thus, in order to eliminate travel woes for more than the 3 Lakh commuters across Navi Mumbai who travel via NMMT’s 444 Ac buses, Ridlr, the daily ticketing & commuting app is collaborating with NMMT to become their mobile ticketing partner, allowing users to now book their tickets via mobile.
This is a huge step that’ll not only help improve cash management for public transport in Mumbai but will also see more inflow of profits for large organizations like NMMT. Close to a year ago, Ridlr had launched a pilot on NMMT routes 123 and 125. After witnessing massive support, Ridlr was extended across all AC routes and hasn’t looked back ever since.
Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport (NMMT) is a major transportation service serving people in Navi Mumbai and its surrounding areas extending to Thane, Dombivali, and Panvel etc. Operational since ’96, NMMT has accomplished several milestones in transportation services.
“Our collaboration with Ridlr will improve the experience of commuting for NMMT Ac bus commuters. I’m sure this difference will help us retain commuters who are moving to other modes of transport. With 500 and 1000 currency notes being banned by the government and ticket denominations being higher in AC buses, our app will be a blessing for both customer and NMMT. ” added NMMT’s General Manager Shirish Aradwad, who has been the guiding light, which has led to NMMT becoming one of the most innovative bus agencies in India.
Ridlr’s mission is to digitize public transport ticketing across agencies in India that will help solve numerous challenges that commuters face regularly like availability of exact change, waiting in long queues etc. The app also provides crucial traffic information at your fingertips, helps you with travel plans, bus and train time-table and transaction history. Right from looking up information to enjoying a comfortable ride by booking tickets, Ridlr spans the entire lifecycle of the commuter and that too across various modes of transport. Ridlr app will be live on Play Store on all android devices from 21 November on the following routes - Turbhe depot: 91, 107, 108, 110, 121, 122, 124 & 131; Ghansoli depot: 121 & 131 and Asudgoan depot:103, 123 & 125. To ensure maximum customers take benefit from the service, Ridlr is offering attractive cashback and discounts to customers.
“We put our commuters first and by using this app and by offering them paperless tickets, we eliminate the hassle of standing in long queues thus helping Mumbaikars and other visitors to get where they need to be quickly and offer more freedom and convenience than ever before. Additionally, commuters will no longer have to grumble about a rift with conductors over chutta or coins in change. ” said Brijraj Vaghani, CEO, Ridlr
