With the children of Developing Indigenous Resources (DIR)
NOVEMBER 15, 2016, CHANDIGARH, INDIA-As a leading global hospitality company, Hyatt is in the business of caring for people so they can be their best. They work to create an environment for people to thrive by building strong communities and fostering sustainable environmental practices.
They believe that they have great opportunities and an even greater responsibility to ensure that they grow thoughtfully. Hyatt Thrive, their corporate responsibility (CR) strategy and platform, is built on the understanding that their actions can create long-term value for the people and the communities where they work. To emphasize this they celebrated Children’s Day where they entertained 44 children from DIR. They started with a cake cutting ceremony, followed by snacks for the children. There was a drawing competition and games where prizes were to be won by the children. After lots of fun and entertainment, the children were transported back to their homes under the watchful eyes of their caretakers.
The General Manager of the hotel Puneet Baijal expressed “Children are the future of our country and we take pride in our part in enhancing their lives in any way. It was a pleasure to see the underprivileged children enjoy the treats and games which are not part of their usual routine. We are happy for any opportunity to bring smiles on their faces. The presence of Dr Frederick Shaw, CEO, DIR, added grace to the occasion”.
