Child operated at NSSH 24-hour eye care center walks home with vision intact

India 24 November 2016: Traffic accident victim Mohammed Adil (4 years) received a new lease of life after his vision was saved following an emergency ophthalmic surgery at Nanavati Super Speciality Hospital (NSSH)’s 24-hour eye care hospital.

“The child had suffered a severe injury to his right eye after falling from a scooter in a road accident. Gauging the seriousness of his condition, we decided to operate on him when he was brought in to NSSH. The skin below the eye and the skin of the eye were ruptured.  In a complicated surgery which required 30 stitches, we were successful in saving the boy’s vision,” stated Dr Jimit Chodhari, Ophthalmologist, NSSH, who operated on the child.
