Sreshth Shah, Ankan Das from Misfits Media lift the Tata Crucible Corporate Quiz 2016 trophy

Mumbai, October 13th, 2016: In an exciting victory, Sreshth Shah and Ankan Das from Misfits Media were crowned winners of the Tata Crucible Corporate Quiz 2016. The 13th edition of the iconic Tata Crucible Corporate Quiz witnessed a thrilling finish at the grand finale held at Taj Mahal Palace in the city, with Misfits Media moving ahead of the runners-up, Kushan Patel and Meghashyam Shirodkar from Social Udaan. The national finals had the audience at the edge of their seats, with a remarkable display of intelligent quizzing, and out-of-the-box problem solving.
Highlights of the Tata Crucible Corporate Quiz 2016 • Over 1700 teams from across India, participated in the quiz, which was held in 25 cities • This year, in a rare occurrence, Sreshth Shah won both, the Campus Quiz and the Corporate Quiz • This year’s edition also witnessed innovative formats and an element of unpredictability that intelligently engaged with the participants, whetting their curiosity
A knowledge initiative by the Tata group, Tata Crucible provides a unique platform for the country’s sharpest minds to showcase their quizzing mettle. Over 13 years, the quiz has run parallel to India’s growth story, by going beyond the traditional quizzing centres in big cities, and trail-blazing into smaller cities. This year, the quiz drew participation from over 1700 teams across India.
The grand finale was divided into three rounds: ‘Go Faster’, ‘Aim Higher’ and ‘Be Stronger’. The format this year was a salute to the Spirit of Olympics and the motto – faster, stronger and higher.
The chief guest for the evening, Dr. Gopichand Katragadda, Chief Technology Officer, Tata Sons Ltd., felicitated the winning teams. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Katragadda said, “The grand finale was fantastic, the energy was really infectious. It was fascinating to see the ocean of talent that we have. At an event like this, representing a company in the National Finals is ultimate. The performance we saw broke some records, which was really inspiring.”
The National Champions were awarded the coveted Tata Crucible Corporate Quiz 2016 trophy and the prize money of Rs.5,00,000/-*. As a special prize this year, each member of the winning team received a new Bolt car from Tata Motors*. (*Subject to tax deduction as applicable)
High on adrenaline and brimming with a sense of achievement, the winners from Misfits Media, Sreshth Shah and Ankan Das, were delighted to share their exciting journey to reach the finale of the Tata Crucible Corporate Quiz.

Elated by his win, Sreshth Shah said, “I feel very lucky to be able to win the Tata Crucible Corporate Quiz. In the beginning, I did not think that I would get this far. I went step-by-step and took it one round at a time and today I truly feel on top of the world. The quiz was hosted by the ace quizmaster Giri Balasubramaniam, a.k.a. Pickbrain, who, through his distinctive style, drew the best out of the contestants and captivated the audience with some high-powered action on stage.

The 13th edition of the Tata Crucible Corporate Quiz, spread across two months, witnessed strong participation across the country. The winners from the regional rounds then competed in the zonal finals and the top two teams from each zonal finals were invited to the national finals. The cities where the quiz was conducted included New Delhi, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Gurgaon, Jaipur, Indore, Ghaziabad-Noida, Kolkata, Visakhapatnam, Guwahati, Bhubaneswar, Raipur, Jamshedpur, Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Goa, Ahmedabad, Navi Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Thiruvananthapuram, Coimbatore, Kochi and Hyderabad.
