India’s largest tech quiz for schools to reach out to 15 cities across the Nation
DELHI, October 20, 2016: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading IT services, consulting and business solutions firm, announced today that TCS IT Wiz 2016 – India’s largest technology quiz for schools will be held in Delhi on Saturday, November 12, at Dogra Hall, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi.
There is no entry fee. School students studying in class 8-12 (including Pre University of Junior college students) are eligible to participate in the event. Each institution can send a maximum of 8 teams (2 members per team) to participate.
TCS IT Wiz 2016 is held across 15 locations in India – Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune and Visakhapatnam.

Quiz format: The top six teams from the written preliminary round will qualify for the regionals finals. Only the top scoring team from each school will be called on stage in the event of multiple teams from the same school qualify for the final. The winning team from the Regional finals will contest in the in the Mega Finals held during December in Mumbai. The winning team along with an escort will be flown to Mumbai.
Prizes: The Regional champion this year will walk away with an iPad air each while the runners-up will be rewarded an iPad mini along with a specially designed trophy and medals. The 6 finalists will also receive an array of prizes from TCS ranging from space pack, selfie stick, Earphones, Bluetooth speakers and pen drives. The Regional champions along with an escort will also fly to Mumbai for the National Finals.
#Node contest: Based on the concept of “6 Degrees of separation” the contest combines networking, trivia from the world of technology with the application of lateral thinking to connect people, companies and terms with the help of cryptic clues. The participants will be posting answers on Facebook and Twitter and the winners will receive Bluetooth speaker and Earphones.

The Quiz will mainly focus on:
1. Applications of Information Technology across various sectors and aspects including technology environment, the business, people, new trends and legends.
2. Emerging areas such as cloud computing, telecom, biometrics, robotics, world of Internet, unique web sites, IT buzzwords and acronyms.
3. Areas where IT has made an impact - education, entertainment, books, multimedia, music, movies, internet, banking, advertising, sports, gaming, social media and world of mobiles.
4. IT Personalities - Global, national and local, brands of IT and communication companies, software products and brands, the history of IT as well as its humorous side of Information Technology.
