10 September 2016, Chennai: Karur Vysya Bank (KVB), a leading private sector bank in India celebrated its centenary in Chennai today. The Hon’ble president of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee was the chief guest of the function. Shri Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao, the Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.  The grand event that was conducted at the Madras University Centenary Auditorium was well attended by the Bank’s esteemed customers, business partners, shareholders and employees of KVB.

Shri. B Swaminathan, Chairman, KVB welcomed the galaxy of distinguished guests at the function.  Shri. A J Suriyanarayana, Director, Karur Vysya Bank dwelt on the historical journey of KVB of the past 100 years. Shri. K Venkataraman, MD & CEO of Karur Vysya Bank, spoke on the heritage and the future plans of KVB.

Shri. Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao, the Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu complimented KVB for successful service and 100 years of trust.
The Hon’ble President of India, Shri. Pranab Mukherjee addressed the gathering and complimented Karur Vysya Bank for its service to the nation.

Shri. M K Venkatesan, Director, KVB, proposed the vote of thanks. 
 A Corporate History Book of Karur Vysya Bank was released by the Hon’ble Governor on the occasion and the first copy was presented to the Hon’ble President.

This is the second time that the bank is receiving two awards in a year from IDRBT. The Bank has also recently won the FE Best Bank Award, 2014 for Credit Quality and Dun & Bradstreet Award for Best Bank, 2016 – Priority Sector Lending.
