Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India and Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India with support of Government of Karnataka are organising a 2 day BRICS Wellness Workshop on 10th& 11th September at Hotel Shangrila, Bengaluru. The event is being organised as a run up to the BRICS Summit scheduled in Goa on 15th& 16th October which will be attended by the Head of State of all 5 BRICS Nations. BRICS Wellness Workshop will be inaugurated by ShriAnanth Kumar, Minister for Chemicals & Fertilisers and Parliamentary Affairs, Govt. of India. Shri.Siddaramaiah, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka, will be the Chief Guest. He will be joined by ShriSripadYesso Naik, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India. Shri K. R Ramesh Kumar, Hon’ble Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Karnataka and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Founder, Art of Living and Dr. H R Nagendra, Chancellor, S-VYASA University Bengaluru will be the Guests of Honour at the Inaugural Function of this 2 day BRICS Wellness Workshop.
The BRICS Wellness Workshop is an opportunity to explore opportunities amongst the BRICS Nations in the area of Traditional Medicine. India will highlight the benefits of AYUSH Systems and how we have made considerable efforts to promote and propagate the Indian Systems of Medicine nationally and internationally. Yoga is an example of India’s showcase to the World. Delegates from Brazil, Russia, China and South Africa will work closely with Indian Experts and look for areas of mutual co-operation.
Co-parallel to the BRICS Wellness workshop, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India in collaboration with Directorate of AYUSH, Government of Karnataka and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI)is organising AROGYA, a four days Comprehensive Health fair on Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy from 10 – 13 September 2016 at the heart of the cityie. Gayatri Vihar, Palace Ground, Bengaluru. The Arogya health fair will be inaugurated on 10th September at 5 pm by ShriSripadYesso Naik, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of Indiaalong with Shri. K R Ramesh Kumar, Hon’ble Health Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka. Shri.P C Mohan, Hon’ble MP LokSabha and Shri. D K Suresh, Hon’ble MP, LokSabha, DR. H R Nagendra, Chancellor, S-VYASA University, Bengaluru and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Founder, Art of Living, will be the Guests of Honour. The inauguration will be attended by Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of AYUSH, Joint Secretary Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India, Principal Secretary Health & Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka, Senior Officials of Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India and Senior Officials of Directorate of AYUSH, Govt of Karnataka.
Every year several such fairs are organized in various States of India to showcase the strengths, potential and the latest advancements made in India in the Traditional Medicine sector and Homoeopathy. These AROGYA Fairs showcase the advancements in clinical practices, research and documentation, manufacturing and the processes involved in these systems of medicine and also the medicinal plants sector. The Arogya Health fair will attract international researchers, manufacturers and processors and people from all walks of life who evince a great interest in the ancient and classical knowledge systems of Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani Medicine and the wonderful therapeutic effects of Yoga which is globally famous as a drugless therapy system.
The Department of AYUSH in collaboration with the State Government of Karnataka and organizational support from FICCI has selected Bengalurue as the venue for this prestigious event looking at its importance as a major commercial and industrial centre which is also a vibrant Pharma Manufacturing Cluster. Major Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Siddha and Unani manufacturing units are participating from all over the country.
In addition, a Seminar on uses of AYUSH medicines and Medicinal Plants,workshops on Quality Up-gradation for AYUSH manufacturing industry will also be organized.
National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB) will also be organsing a Buyer Seller Meet at the Arogya Health Fair on 10th September. NMPB has invited over 500 Farmers from Karnataka and neighbouring States to interact with more than 150 Industries which are participating at this Health fair from 13 States including Karnataka State including companies such as Dabur, Himalaya, Doodhpapeshwar, Sri Sri Ayurveda, Sandu, Baidyanath etc.
Other highlights of the Fair would be free clinics and consultationsfor the public by eminent doctors of AYUSH systems and there will be FREE distribution of Medicines. In addition, national level experts on Yoga, Naturopathy, Ayurveda, Homoeopathy and Unani would deliver lectures on management of various diseases through AYUSH therapies.
The entry to the fair is free and fair will be open to public daily from 11.00 A.M. to 8.00 P.M. from September 10 - 13, 2016
