India 11 September 2016: Saptami the multi-cuisine all day dining restaurant at Holiday Inn Mumbai International Airport, Sakinaka, Andheri will be celebrating Onam, the harvest festival of Kerala. The Executive Chef Sudhir Pai has prepared a Onam Sadhya menu which will be served between Sep 14 and Sep 16 during lunch hours.
The restaurant will be decorated with a rangoli at the entrance and a traditional lamp. Traditional music will also be played. The staff will be dressed in south Indian mundu and veshti. The hostess will be wearing traditional saris.
The buffet will comprise of traditional onam sadya . Some of the vegetarian dishes on the menu include Avial (Mixed vegetables in tempered coconut gravy), Erissery (Pumpkin and raw banana), Olan (Ash gourd, pumkin and red lentil coconut stew), Kalan,Long Beans Thoran, Koottukari, Sambhar. The desserts are Channadal Payasam, Palaadda Pradhaman, Pal Payasam, Rava Ladoo, Coconut Burfi, Baddi Boondi Ladoo, and Nariyaal Chandrakala. Other traditional dishes include Pulingi- Ginger tamarind chutney, Pineapple Pacchady, Upperi –Chips, Daal Vada, Pappadams /Appalam etc.
