Pune, India – September 26th, 2016- Nexteer Automotive, a global leader in intuitive motion control, celebrated its new manufacturing plant in Pune, India. Pune takes its place as Nexteer’s third manufacturing plant in India – joining plants in Bangalore and Gurgaon – and as the 22nd plant within Nexteer’s global manufacturing footprint.
“The Pune plant is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nexteer Automotive, covering an area of 35,000 square feet of shop floor with the capability for future expansion of an additional 35,000 square feet. The facility also provides 5,700 square feet of office space,” Madhav Kulkarni, Managing Director Nexteer India, said.
Nexteer’s Pune, India plant will focus mainly on halfshaft component manufacturing and assembly for local customers, as well as supplying its Gurgaon plant. In the future, the new plant may also expand into Electric Power Steering (EPS) production. The company anticipates that the new plant will provide 120 job opportunities in Pune by end of 2017.
