Seminar on Laws, Ethics and Media
BANGALORE, September 21st, 2016: MEDIA SPARK-The National Seminar on the theme laws, ethics and media focuses on how laws and ethics play a vital role in media. The world of media is a fragile and extremely delicate one; one that requires its own decorum to function as the watch dog of our society. Owing to this, it is important for journalists to watch their steps carefully while hunting for news and dispensing their duties. While the fourth estate creates awareness and informs the public about everything around the globe, violation of rubrics can lead to a major catastrophe for any news organization, be it print or broadcast.
The prime focus of the National Seminar is to create a platform for academicians, research scholars and students to share experiences on the role of laws and ethics in media. It also aims at a meaningful and enlightening discussion among professionals involved in media, both in academics and industry to come together and address the various issues and concerns related to the same topic. It is a vision of His Excellency Dr. Joseph V.G, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Maldives in Bangalore and Chairman, Garden City Group of Institutions.
