Chandigarh, Aug 25th 2016: Connect Broadband market leader in broadband and fixed line segment, is enthusiastic about the way their association with UTCA,is shaping up. The ongoing UTCA and Connect Broadband League witnessed two matches played on Sector 16 ground in Chandigarh.
One of these matches was played between Chandigarh police and Videocon Connect. It was a tough match that stringently tested the true caliber of each player. The fielders of Videocon Connect very energetically did whatever they could to stop each hit from the opposition team.
Chandigarh Police batted first and scored 127 runs with Vikas and Ramandeep scoring 25 and 26 each. Videocon Connect started off well but lost some quick wickets in the end and eventually were bowled out for 101 with 4.3 overs to spare.
The match was trying yet entertaining till the last moment. Kuljeet from Videocon Connect played flashing innings of 24 runs from 17 balls. Sudhir from Videocon Connect picked up 4 wickets while Rajiv from Chandigarh police picked up 5 wickets for 5 runs and was adjudged as Man of the Match.
The Videocon Connect team landed on the field with a plethora of confidence and conviction in their batting line. At the post match conference, Captain of the Videocon Connect team, said, “it was not an easy match, the opposition team had a strong line with ace batsmen and bowlers. We started well but lost few quick wickets in the end which made all the difference”.
The other match was played between Mohali Industry Association and Axis Bank. Thanks to outstanding innings of 89 from 49 balls by Daman Singh, Mohali Industry Association won the match by 74 runs for the ongoing tournament for UTCA, in association with Connect Broadband. The Mohali Industry Association bowlers were exceptionally good and restricted Axis bank to 98 runs only. Daman Singh was adjudged as man of the match.
Mr. Prem Ojha, Chief Operating Officer, Connect Broadband was the guest of honor and Sh B Purushartha IAS Commissioner Muncipal Corporation Chandigarh and Mr Ramvir Bhatti Chairman Market Committee were the chief guest for the match. They were seen enjoying their time and met each player of the winning teams at the post match conference.
