Thane, August 29, 2016: The lead actors of the well-known Marathi play Strawberry, Suyash Tilak and Suruchi Adarkar also known as Jai and Aditi, the famous pair of Ka Re Durawa (Marathi TV serial) yesterday visited KORUM Mall to encourage the participants on the last day of the Table Tennis tournament. At the event the actors played few exhibition matches with the top professional Table Tennis players thus promoting the Table tennis sports at the Mall.

The lead actors of well-known Marathi play Strawberry, Suyash Tilak and Suruchi Adarkar also known as Jai and Aditi, the famous jodhi of KA RE Durawa, Marathi TV serial visited KORUM Mall on Sunday to encourage the participants of the Table Tennis tournament. At the event the lead actors played few exhibition matches with the top professional Table Tennis players and were seen interacting with the patrons and Table Tennis enthusiasts.
The star cast of the Marathi play including Dr. Nikhil Rajeshirke were seen interacting with the Table tennis enthusiasts alike. They also spoke about their play which was followed by a Table tennis workshop wherein the basics of table tennis were taught to the patrons present.
The distinctive 4-day tournament was organised within the mall premises from 25th August to 28th August. The tournament bought the sport in the limelight and witnessed a massive participation from the National ranking players across Thane, Mumbai and Maharashtra. The participating players competed against each other to win cash prizes and improved their national rankings. The players includes Sanish Ambedkar, All India winner and gold medalist for Jr & Youth national championship, Zubin Taraporewala, Bronze winner in All India, Chaitanya Udare, Bronze medalist at the 2013 National championship and Tejas Kamble who has won gold medal twice in the National school games. The tournament which was held in conjunction with the Thane District Table Tennis Association (TDTTA) also encouraged on the spot participation for Tennis enthusiasts. A special tournament was designed for corporates and professionals and separate matches for kids under 10, 12 & 14 years of age were organised as well. The tournament witnessed a total participation of around 600 Table Tennis amateurs. The winners of the Men’s singles category were Sanish Ambekar and runner-up, Zubin Taraporewala and in the Women’s single category were Jagruti Muradkar and runner-up, Shreya Deshpande. All the winners were felicitated with cash prizes and trophies at the end of the tournament.
Speaking about the initiative, spokesperson said, "We are extremely glad to receive such a humongous response from the crowd and sports amateurs at the Table Tennis tournament. We offer our heartfelt appreciation to the members of Thane District Table Tennis association for this endeavour and look forward to organise many such sporty activities.
