India 11 August 2016: Spencer’s Retail Limited, India’s most preferred multi-format retailer, today announced the launch of ‘Freedom Weekend’ campaign on the eve of the 70th Independence Day from 13th to 15th August.
The retailer is all set to offer very attractive pricing on grocery and other non-food merchandise during this period which triggers sub conscious buying needs essential for home and kitchen amongst shoppers.
“Our unique initiative this year has been the dissemination of a ‘Freedom Passbook’ at the beginning of the month for our shoppers which has a glimpse of 15 unique set of offers meant for the 15th August period” – said Mr. Shashwat Goenka – Sector Head, Spencer’s Retail Ltd.
The company expects to grow by 15% over last year during the Independence Day sales campaign period.
“Our initiative also includes Re 1/- pricing on select grocery essentials on a minimum bill value of Rs 1999/- . This has been done keeping shopper preference in mind so that customers can plan their purchases well in advance and choose Spencer’s as ‘the shopping destination’ this Independence Day” added Mr. Goenka.
Spencer’s Retail is currently on an aggressive growth path with plans to go omni-channel by the end of the month and add about 2.5 lakh sqft of trading area with 15 new stores in the next two years.
