Bangalore, August 27, 2016: Phoenix Marketcity, Bengaluru’s international shopping and lifestyle destination launched two public Art Sculptures to increase awareness about the importance of carpooling. The largest art installation of its kind in India, the pieces of art underline the need to unburden our roads by using public and shared transport.
Phoenix Marketcity stands out for its social impact initiatives through the arts.The mall has brought together artists, art lovers and citizens of Bengaluru to create and raise awareness about important issues. More critically, the public display of socially conscious art brings the medium, the artist and the general public together.
To reiterate the significance of carpooling, a painting workshop for underprivileged children was conducted in association with Green Peace India, who work with a few schools in the city. The children were later treated to an enthralling Drum Jam session with the Beat Gurus. The jam was held around the installation, the idea being to draw their attention to the art. The event highlighted the need for shared transportation for a greener environment and congestion-free roads.
