Bengaluru, August 31, 2016: Namma Bengaluru Foundation volunteers along with their canters visited BBMP demolition affected areas across Doddabommasandra, Yelahanka, Atturu, Anantapura, Thirumenahalli, Ramachandrapura village and met hundreds of victims, who shared their grievances regarding the demolitions. Citizens also signed a petition to Chief Minister of Karnataka demanding: No double standards in demolishing illegal constructions, where rich and well connected are excluded, Compensation on Humanitarian grounds to the victims and the displaced who have homes with BBMP plan approvals and Prosecution without exception of All Guilty Government Officials and Erring Builders under all relevant sections of all Laws Violated.

The citizens positively connected with NBF and shared irregularities and illegalities in the demolitions. NBF will share these details with the Namma Bengaluru Citizens Committee (NBCC) formed to review land grabs, encroachments, illegalities reported and forward as necessary to appropriate authorities – Government agencies, media and legal action.
