S.A.M opens admissions for Fall 2016 semester



Learn from the multi-Grammy award winner and Berklee Grads now at S.A.M.

Mumbai, 18th July, 2016: Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music (S.A.M.), Asia’s premier college for   contemporary music invites applications from aspiring musicians for the Fall 2016 semester on various programs in music performance and music production. These fully residential programs will provide an opportunity for the students to master their skills with renowned masters of the field.

As a part of the Fall 2016 semester, S.A.M. renders an opportunity to the students to interact and learn from multi-Grammy award winning mix engineer, Thomas Juth (Sweden) and degree holders from Berklee College of Music, Esther Rojas (Colombia) and Luiza Sales (Brazil). The other internationally acclaimed artists in the faculty board include Sid Jacobs (USA), Karina Colis (Mexico) – Drums, Pedro Carneiro Sliva (Brazil) – Piano, Dr. M. Lalitha (India) Dean - Indian Music Program, Umayalpuram Mali (India) Carnatic Percussion and Sreyas Narayanun (India) Carnatic Voice.

The application window for the Fall 2016 batch will be open till 30th July’16. The courses scheduled to begin in the month of August offers a competitive fee structure for the fall program inclusive of tuition fee, food and accommodation in fully furnished service apartments. 

The courses offered as part of the Fall 2016 are:

·         One Year Diploma in Music Performance

·         Two Year Diploma in Music Performance

·         Single Semester Certificate Program in Music Performance

·         One Year Diploma in Music Production & Technology

·         Four Year Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance (in association with McNally Smith College of Music, Minnesota, USA)

·         Indian Music Program - 10 week Certificate

·         Foundation Music Program - 10 week Certificate


Recognizing the need to understand the various nuances of Indian music, S.A.M has also introduced a one of its kind Indian Music Program spear headed by Dr. M. Lalitha, renowned violinist. The course will offer intensive training on Carnatic and Hindustani music. 

S.A.M. offers highest quality of music education in South Asia that gives exposure to the students in both theoretical and practical fields of music. As a part of the curriculum, a number of workshops, camps, events are organized. One of the prominent courses offered at S.A.M. is the one year diploma in Music performance and Music production & technology. Scholarships are awarded to deserving musicians. The facilities include large ensemble rooms, individual practice rooms, drums practice rooms, private lesson studios, instrument specific labs, fully-equipped performance venues, recording studio, library & media center and sports facilities include Basket Ball court, Badminton court, Football & Cricket ground.
