Newcastle University Business Excellence scholarships


Mumbai 5 July 2016: Newcastle University Business Excellence scholarships are available to outstanding students entering selected postgraduate programmes in September 2016.

International Scholarships of £5,000 towards the cost of tuition fees will be awarded to high achieving Indian students commencing one of the specified Masters Degree programmes for 2016 entry.


Eligibility

The awards are available for students commencing their studies on ALL Business School postgraduate taught full-time programmes with the exception of the following:

1.Finance, Accounting and Business Graduate Diploma
2.Operations Management (Dual Award) MSc/MSc
3.Advanced International Business Management (Dual Award) MSc/MSc
4. Advanced International Business Management and Marketing (Dual Award) MSc/MSc
5. MBA 
6.MPhil/PhD programmes 

Scholarships will be awarded to students who meet the full selection criteria and whose application indicates they have the potential to achieve academic excellence, and the potential to contribute to the School’s aim for a culturally diverse classroom setting.


All scholarship candidates must:
a) Hold a conditional or unconditional offer of admission
 b) Have obtained a UK 1st Class Honours Degree or its international equivalent by the final scholarship deadline. 
 c) Have previously studied at a University with a strong academic reputation
 d) Hold an English language qualification of IELTS 6.5 or its equivalent with no subskill below 6.0, if their first language is not English, by the final scholarship deadline. 

Only candidates that meet the criteria for direct entry onto the Masters programme will be considered.


Conditions of the Award

The award of a scholarship will be conditional on the following criteria. 

Scholarship recipients:

a. Must accept their offer of admission, pay a programme deposit (£500 for UK/EU and £1,500 for International), and confirm acceptance of their scholarship within four weeks of award, or the scholarship may be withdrawn and offered to another candidate. 

b. May not be in receipt of any other scholarship or funding from Newcastle University with the exception of the University’s alumni or family discount, if applicable.

c. Must be self-funding for at least 50% of their tuition fee.

d. Must meet the academic and language requirements set out in the selection criteria by 31st July 2016.

e. Must be committed to supporting the school with recruitment and alumni activities.
 f. Must register with Newcastle University for the 2016/2017 academic year. 

Application process

Offer holders who wish to apply for the scholarship should complete the online application form. Applications will be assessed at the end of each calendar month and applicants will be informed of the decision by email within 2 weeks of this date.
