Bangalore 7 July, 2016: Karnataka Region Economic and Trade Office (KRETO) is holding grand screening of movie 'Kempammana Court Case’ in English sub titles on Sunday July 10 at Karnataka Historic Heritage Site of Chamundi Studios, Cunningham road next to hotel ITC Fortuner. This film is directed by well known actor and director Cudavalli Chandrashekhar.
KRETO Executive Director Asif Iqbal and film director and trade commissioner for Kannada Films Mr. Cudavalli Chandrashekhar informed that event will be inaugurated by the British Deputy High Commissioner Dominic Mc Allister and Hendrikus Van Dord, Chief of Protocol - Diplomatic Counsular Corps of Karnataka at 5 PM on 10th July.
The lamp lighting ceremony will see all consul generals of Canada, UK, Israel, Rwanda, Macedonia, Ivory Coast, Suriname, Estonia and Slovenia
The Foreign consuls group is headed by the Diplomatic Consular Corps of Karnataka (DCCK) who is supporting KRETO for their initiatives in different areas of trade and commerce in Karnataka including the films.
The screening will be attended by all film makers including Chalanachitra Academy, Kannada film chamber of Commerce and Kannada Development Authority Chairman L Hanumantiah. Also present will be NRI Forum Deputy Chairman VC Prakash and producer Rockline Venkatesh.
Karnataka Region Economic Trade Organization has launched the first of its kind KANNADA FILM COMMISSION platform to market and collaborate kannada films outside India. The first production which is Canadian Kannada production KEMPAMMANA COURT CASE will be screened at a special 29 Diplomatic session with members from various foreign missions on Karnataka state.

The Inauguration of this KRETO Kannada film commission is headed by Actor Director Cudavalli Chandrashekhar who is the KRETO Kannada film commissioner who will head a committee of 6 film makers who will oversee the best content to be selected and sent for promotion and marketing outside. The films that are traditional and that can depict the kannada culture and Karnataka visuals are mostly preferred.
The Embassy of Bosnia Herzegovina in New Delhi has already invited the Kannada films to be screened at the forthcoming SARAJEVO film Festival SFF 2016 to be held in the last week of August 2016 where a batch of 7 kannada films will be shown in a special panorama. The Indo Bosnian Chamber of Commerce has organised the screening of these films. Sarajevo film festival is thee 3rd largest festival after Cannes, Berlin and Rome festivals. Ambassador Sabit Subasic led a KRETO delegation last month to Sarajevo and various film locations are available for shooting kannada films with conproduction partners.
Other countries have also offered to collaborate with Kannada film market and identify co-producers and financiers for making good quality kannada films.
This platform of KRETO is the special purpose vehicle which will be used to promote kannada cinema for first time in the history of Karnataka where kannada film panorama will be screened in Europe and American film festivals.
A delegation of film makers will be led by KRETO in October to Netherlands and in November to latin America.
Cudavalli Chandrashekhar the kannada film commissioner in KRETO said the right time has come now for kannada films to enter foreign markets and we will leave no stone unturned , this first co-production of Canadaian Kannadiga will be the beginning and more to come. Also present was Stanely Gomes, the Consul General of Canada who has said he will connect films of Kannada to the country and make collaboraitons for film making.
Chairperson of KRETO Shabeena Sultana also mentioned that the Current government is very encouraging about promoting kannada films outside india and she will travel with the delegation who will have reimbursement for travel from the Ministry of Commerce under MDA (Marketing Development Assistance) Program.
Executive Director of KRETO Asif Iqbal has also been enthusiastic on the project and said various crowd funding schemes will be launched in association with Kannada organisations abroad so their participation will be of prime importance.
