Grand Event held to commemorate APJ Abdul Kalam on his punyatithi


 New Delhi 28th July 2016: 
Global Society and Yuva Foundation held a grand event “Celebration Kalam” as a mark of giving tribute to late Indian President APJ Abdul Kalam. The event took place at Mavalankar Hall, Constitution Club of India on Wednesday 27th of July. The event was attended by various dignitaries including Shri Suresh Prabhu Railway Minister of India, Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey Minister of State for Human Resource Development Higher Education, Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi Member of Parliament from New Delhi constituency and Col Ashok Kinni - Ex-Comptroller Gen of APJ Abdul Kalam. Sudesh Prabhkar, Jagdambika Pal, VK Saraswat, SM Khan , Actress Priyanka Kothari and Bhasker Prakash were also present on the occasion. The event was hosted by Shri. Shantanu Gupta, Founder Yuva Foundation.

Bollywood actress and supporter of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Priyanka Kothari honored Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu by presenting him a book. 


The event was glorified by various dance performances on nationalist songs by students and display of a movie on Kalam Sahab’s life.  Various attending dignitaries also spoke on the occasion paying high tributes to the late President.  Students from 7 different schools were gathered for Celebrating Kalam. 


Speaking on the occasion Col Ashok Kinni, Ex-Comptroller Gen of APJ Abdul Kalam stated that Late Mr. Kalam used to say that just as his life was spiritual; he wanted that his demise date to be celebrated as a festival where various books should be distributed as gifts to students, promotion of education to be done and many more such activities that will help in guiding the young students of the country. 

Col Kinni further added, “Kalam Sahab was an institution-builder and a team-builder, a visionary, who constantly wanted to build a strong and self-reliant India.”

Suresh Prabhu Railway Minister of India said, Kalam sahab is the real hero of our country and he always used to say “Dream, Dream Dream, Dreams transform into thoughts. And thoughts result in action.”


Shri Shantanu Gupta, Founder Yuva Foundation stated that, “Entire life of Mr. Kalam is a source of inspiration for the youth. The man who has defeated every challenge and limitation with sheer perseverance and dedication. He never complained about the difficulties he faced in various phases of life. For such a great and humble man, life was a mission to give rather than take.”
