The Speedo supported swimmer wins Gold in 200m Freestyle at the Junior National Aquatic Championships
July 5, 2016, Bangalore:Captain of the Karnataka team Damini Gowda won gold in her first event, clocking a time of 2:10.01 in the 200 Metre Freestyle, Girls Group 1 Category on the first day of the Junior National Aquatic Championships in Bangalore. Damini fought off close competition from Maharashtra's Rayna Saldhana, but emerged victorious in the final stretch.
Swimming in the Speedo LZR Racer Suit, Damini was delighted at her performance in the first event, concluding, "I am extremely happy with my start at the National Championships and winning gold after a tough race."
Damini will next race in the 200 Metre Butterfly event alongside fellow Team Speedo India member Trisha Karkhanis on Wednesday, 6th July.
