BKCCAD wins at Skill India Competition Showcase at Pragati Maidan


India 19 July 2016:
 Blossom Kochhar College of Creative Arts wins the Skill India Competition showcase held over the weekend on July 16, 2016 & July 17, 2016 at Pragati Maidan. 

Out of 9 participants BKCCAD secured all the first 3 positions in Hair Segment. Simran Kaur, Karan A and Utkarsh won the gold, silver and bronze medal respectively. Each was given a trophy and a cheque of 1 lakh, 75 thousand and 50 thousand were announced respectively for each of them. The different rounds in the Hair segment constituted of Long Hair down, Bridal & Men’s Fashion Cut. The competiton was held under the supervision of Ms. Samantha Kochhar, the Chief Expert Hair India and Deputy Chief Expert World.

Union Minister of State Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (Independent Charge) Government of India, Rajiv Pratap Rudy visited the Hair and Beauty competition arena at India Skills 2016. Samantha Kochhar took him around the arena. Judges Vipul Chudasama, Raman Bhardwaj, Aarti Amarendra, Violet Goswami, Asha Hariharan were also present. Rajiv Pratap Rudy further interacted with Hair contestants Simran Kaur, A Karan and Utkarsh Arya. 

Out of 10 participants in the Beauty Segment BKCCAD secured that of the first position. Nancy Verma won the gold medal and a cheque of Rs. 1 lakh was announced for her as well. The different rounds in the beauty segment constituted of Advance Facials, Spa Manicure and Spa Pedicure, Nail Art and Fantasy Make Up. 

The competitors will go on to participate in the India Skills Competition finals and the winner will go ahead and represent India at the World Skill Competition 2017 in Abu Dhabi.
