New Delhi, June 29, 2016: Nexgen Conferences, one of India's leading conferences and B2B event organizers announces the first edition of ‘Small Cells Networks Summit 2016’. The summit is going to be held on July 22 at Courtyard Marriott, Mumbai.
Equipped with multi-technology, small cells represent an important opportunity for the telecom industry in India. Due to rising volume of mobile data consumption and subsequent increase in mobile data traffic, mobile operators are facing challenges with the present available networks and wireless spectrum resources to meet the customer demand. The telecom industry is looking at the increasingly popular option of small cell technology in particular. The next generation of small cells features multiple technologies, which will provide additional benefits for both carriers and end users. Small Cells Networks have the ability to lower the burden on the already stressed cellular networks, leading to lowering the operating costs and improve the level satisfaction of users.
“The summit would engage key players and thought leaders of the telecom industry, which in turn would be instrumental to discuss and deliberate about the key challenges and opportunities in this area. As we embark into the era of 4G LTE wireless technology, the summit is going to have a significant impact not only for telecom players, but also the end users.” says Anjani Kumar Singh, CEO, Nexgen Conferences.
Small cells are an integral part of future LTE networks. In 3G networks, small cells are viewed as an offload technique. In 4G networks, the principle of heterogeneous network (HetNet) is introduced where the mobile network is constructed with layers of small and large cells. Small cells not only improve building coverage and capacity; but positively impact the capacity of the outdoor macro network as well. Due to the low power requirement, these solutions are environment friendly and have least radiation. These equipments also help telecom players save and utilise its biggest asset ‘Spectrum’.
According to a recent report published by Delloite, telecom operators are expected to off-load traffic from macro to micro sites in order to meet the eminent data demand. Globally, small cells have been outstripping the number of macro base stations shipped since 2010. However, the coverage of these small cells has been limited. On similar lines, in India, data growth is expected to result in more traffic offloading to alternate access technologies from traditional macro sites. A total of 44% of the mobile traffic is expected to be off-loaded to Wi-Fi and small cells by 2020, where in small cells will contribute to 7% of off-loaded data traffic in most likely scenario.
‘Small Cells Networks Summit 2016’ has been sponsored by well-known organizations such as Huawei, Nokia, ZTE, iBwave, Spirent and supported by 3GPP & Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI)
About Nexgen Conferences
Nexgen Conferences provides businesses and professionals an opportunity to engage with a focused audience through live CXO events, B2B conferences, tradeshows, seminars, exhibitions, press conferences and corporate briefings. We believe that there is a huge opportunity to transform country’s information and communications technology (ICT) environment. However, this can be achieved only if we have a meaningful platform for collaboration and idea sharing. We understand that the industry need focused and specialized events and exhibitions to meet the next generation challenges of the sector.
