Hyderabad, 30 June, 2016: Gerdau, the leading producer of long steel in the Americas and one of the largest suppliers of special steel in the world, recently inaugurated an RO Water Plant in Gannevaripalli village in Tadipatri Mandal on June 2016. With the support of villagers who volunteered in construing the shed, Gerdau Steel India invested around Rs. 5 lakhs in the project of setting up RO plant machinery in Gannevaripalli. Nearly 2000 people would benefit from this plant which has a capacity of 2000 litres per hour.
The RO plant was inaugurated by Sridhar Krishnamoorthy, MD, Gerdau Steel India Limited. Speaking on this occasion he said, “As part of Gerdau’s continual commitment to the community, various programmes are being conducted in different parts of the Mandal at regular intervals. One such programme organized in Gannevaripalli village recently is for providing safe drinking water to villagers. In addition to this, Gerdau has also undertaken several community development initiatives that contributes towards the sustainable development of the rural areas”
Dr Ramesh Nath Lingutla, NRI and native of this village contributed Rs 02.00Lakhs towards digging of borewell for this plant. Village President Sri Ch.Venkata Ramana, Mandal officials also participated in this programme.
