Singer Rishita an emerging figure with great influence in the Music Industry was Born in an upper middle class Punjabi family in Delhi. Throughout her life, whether in school or college, the live stage was a huge passion for her, she loved watching a lot of live shows for inspiration. The passion for live stage was such that even she dreamt of being on the stage.
In 2009, she was auditioned for Miss India Worldwide pageant, and was selected in top 21 contestants. She won Miss Talented and Miss Beautiful Skin subtitles and made to the top 5 being the youngest contestant of all. Again at the beauty pageant she was in the performer mode & won the miss talented round where boxing champion Virender Singh told her that he voted for Rishita and wanted her to win.
She had no links in the music industry, so she took active participation in dance and music competitions. Finally it happened & destiny got her to the right audition at right time. She ended up auditioning for a MTV show. It was called Ibibo MTV I superstar (a talent based online voting show) and cleared the Delhi round to a surprise. And eventually went on to be the national winner. She got to feature in a special music video produced by MTV & ace choreographer Ahmed Khan
With time Rishita decided to move to Mumbai, to pursue her dream to become an actor. Rishita pursued her further studies and freelancing simultaneously. While in Mumbai over the years Rishita has featured in some top international ad campaigns with the likes of Dominos, Spicejet etc.
A stable base in education & a suitable experience went hand in glove and in a years time she started her career in punjabi films with her first project being Yaraan Naal Baharaan 2.
Later, Rishita was casted in Paisa Yaar and Panga & then Gun and Goal which released in April 2015.
“I had always been passionate about singing, and it stood long in my bucket list to have a song recorded of my own. So i recorded a lounge version of my film song, and shared it with friends from the industry. I got a big push from them to start taking my passion more seriously and which I did.” Says Rishita
Blessed with continuous support from her family and friends she realized her potential in music. Venturing out into the field of music was quite a risky endeavor, but she exhibited all the qualities of a star and undoubtedly lived up to the challenges. Possessing the combination of her boundless passion, universal appeal, multifaceted talent, and undeniable originality, she was a star in the making that is destined for great success.
I have been writing songs since 2 years now, and I wanted to start with something that brought the artist in me on a palate. Added Rishita
In Music Industry "Mann JA" was the first project which was composed, written and sung by Rishita and Sukhe, she was enthusiastic in the project and that's how it took off.
And this gave Rishita’s performance career a kick start & that's where she found music as a big artistic release and the stage, immensely gratifying.
Rishita’s ambition to have her musical career on track, has tied up with Delhi's leading artist management company called #HouseOfCheers to scale up her performance career over the next few years.
Since last few months Rishita has been performing gigs at some of the leading Indian clubs, colleges, & social events.
