DBS Bank, part of Asia’s foremost financial services group, DBS Group Holdings Limited, today announced the appointment of Mohit Kapoor as Head of DBS Asia Hub 2 (DAH2). The facility is DBS’ newly established technology development centre in Hyderabad, Telangana, and the bank’s largest tech hub outside its home market of Singapore.
DBS Asia Hub 2 will support the bank in strengthening its technological capabilities across the region as well as its digital banking strategy. Its plan is to recruit 1,500 people over the next two years.
Kapoor joined DAH2 on 1 May, reporting to Surojit Shome, DBS India CEO, and Paul Cobban, COO of DBS’ Group Technology & Operations. Kapoor brings on board over two decades of experience driving technology operations for leading foreign banks and IT companies in India. He was most recently Global Delivery Leader and Chief Technology Officer at Bank of America – Continuum, based in Hyderabad.
Said DBS CEO Piyush Gupta: “The financial sector is evolving at an extremely fast pace and, for us to grow, we need to re-imagine banking. DBS’ recently-launched digibank is an example of how we are doing that.
