Saptami, the multi-cuisine all day dining restaurant at Holiday Inn Mumbai International Airport is celebrating the spirit of India by organizing a street food festival . Street food from various cities of India will be showcased during the festival.
The restaurant has been decorated like a typical city street with a black and yellow autorichshaw parked in one corner. Colourful kites and manza form the part of the decore. The restaurant walls adorn Bollywood posters. Colourful Patakas , Pani puri terracotta matka with the typical red cloth, Sherbet vala, Hawkers cart dispensing gourmet goodies, Kulfivala, Street side sweet shop selling small goodies from glass barnis will be some other elements respresenting the typical Mumbai street.
The executive chef, Sudhir Pai has ensured that the best of street food is presented to the guest during the festival. From ragda pattice of Mumbai to dahi bhalla of Delhi or Matar patila from Lucknow, the best of the chaats are available. Similarly various drinks lile kalakhatta to masala chaas to lassi will be served. Various snacks such as vada pav, kachori, dal vadai from Tamilnadu, mirchi bada from Rajashtan also form the part of the menu.
The soups will comprise of mutton, chicken surva from Hyderabad, paya soup from lucknow etc. Non vegetarians can relish keema, kaleji, bheja fry, tawa pulao. Various types of biryanis, breads, parathas along with main course dishes such as Butter chicken, Dal Makhani, Chopsuey, Kadai Ghost, Jeera Aloo, Dal Tadkevali, Chilli Chicken will be other attraction of the street food buffet..
Various desserts served during the ten-day long fest will include Jalebi & rabdi, Gulab Jamun, Phirni, Rasgolla, Rasmalai, Gajar Halwa, Dandivali Kulfi, Falooda.
There will be vendors on the cart selling Chanachor garam, Channa/Singh pudi Kheera /Mooli, Fruit plate.
