Kolkata, 27 April: With opposition parties flaying TMC government's 'Paribartan' theme, Trinamool Congress leader Idris Ali on Wednesday claimed that the general public gave the party a clean chit after Sarada scam and the same trend will be repeated after the Narada sting.
At an Aaj Tak event, Sidharth Nath Singh, national secretary & WB state in charge, BJP attacked Trinamool Congress chief for not agreeing to ask for a CBI enquiry on the Narada sting issue. "When a famous building caught fire years ago and 49 people died, Mamata
Banerjee as part of opposition wanted CBI enquiry. But after the Narada sting which showed more than dozen people of TMC accepting bribe, the same person is doing showing her double standards," Singh said.
Atul Kumar Anjaan, national secretary, CPI said that Vivekananda flyover accident event has exposed the TMC government. "This election is very important. TMC is still so confident about its victory when the polls are not yet complete. Counting has not even started. Yet, they are claiming victory. This is very surprising."
In his reply, Trinamool Congress leader Idris Ali said that Mamata Banerjee is a symbol of honesty. "We have done a lot of work in the past five years. Wait for May 19 and you will be able to see how the public will give us a strong mandate. After the Sarada scam, people
still gave us votes. This Narada sting is a same thing. There is no proof. If the court wants to conduct an enquiry, they can do so. Mamata Banerjee has done no wrong and she will not protect the guilty. But so us the proof," Ali said.
