Over 500 participants embarked upon a mission to develop intuitive methods and intelligent codes to build innovative mobile commerce solutions in 24 hours

Bengaluru, April 16, 2016: Leading platform for fashion brands and pioneer in e-commerce, Myntra, today invited the finest tech minds in the city to hack their way into some of the coolest technological innovations for the mobile platform. The event witnessed over 500 internal & external participants from companies including Walmart Labs, Intuit, Hike & Practo and challenged them to create game-changing mobile technologies, themed around Computer Vision, Big Data, and Artificial Intelligence within 24 hours.

The event began with key sessions by spokespersons from Myntra and Mech Mocha, who inspired participants to explore the unexplored in mobile technology. Ambarish Kenghe, Head of Product, Myntra, addressing the audience, said, “Open hackathons are great not just for engaging with professionals from the tech community but also sowing the seeds for great innovation down the line. We are certain that the discussion from today will continue beyond this event and lead to great products and technologies. The themes for this year — Computer vision, Big Data and AI — will play a pivotal role in changing our lives in the near future. We are delighted to host the second edition of the Myntra hackathon to help shape the tech landscape further.”

Participants (individual or a team of four) will be competing for prizes worth Rs. 2,50,000/-which will be offered to the top three demonstrations post the event. The Myntra Hack Day is an annual event, launched last year with around 200 participants, featuring crazy ideas, interesting insights and a large bounty of prizes.
