15th April 2016, New Delhi: Ms. Radha Bhatia President Women In Aviation International (WAI) , (India Chapter) hosted the first conference of the newly formed India chapter of the US based non profit organisation Women In Aviation. The panel discussion on THE INVISIBLE FORCE was held at Dusit D 2 .The chief guest for the conference is be Hon. Minister of state for Skill development Mr. Rajiv Pratap Rudy. The Lighting ceremony was done by Mr. Rajiv Pratap Rudy, H. E Mr Jan Luyx, Radha Bhatia & Neelam Pratap Rudy.

Radha Bhatia, President, Women in Aviation International (WAI) India Chapter says, “We at Women in Aviation International (India Chapter) are very positive about the first conference. With the industry and a few stalwarts support we will encourage young women to consider aviation as a viable career opportunity. By bringing the International chapter to India we will get the best talent and knowledge base to skill and empower the women of today.
Neelam Pratap Rudy, Vice President, Women in Aviation International (WAI) India Chapter says, “A Developing Nation has to employ and skill women for its growth. In India only 17% contributed to GDP according to world’s standard 37%. Aviation and connectivity is the barometer of the economical health of a country and more doors can be opened to women empowerment through skill development to bridge the gender gap in India.”
Women in Aviation International, with over 13000 members worldwide are a non-profit organization dedicated to advancement of women in all aviation career fields and interests. The recently-launched India Chapter comprises a group of passionate women professionals from various sectors in aviation to include commercial and cargo airlines, ground handling, aviation law, government, regulatory affairs, airports, IAF medical inspectors, journalists and many more. A primary aim of the Chapter is to create awareness and assist in development of skills in various aviation-related verticals including training and education.
The core objective of the Conference is to evaluate skill requirements and view best practices in skill development of the aviation industry. Through this, we hope to create awareness on employment opportunities that will bridge existing gaps.
