New Delhi, 21st April, 2016: Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) today organized a seminar titled “Seminar on Media & Entertainment” where prominent leaders from Media & Entertainment industry were in attendance. The event was presided over by Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Hon’ble Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting, Government of India.
The event also saw leading industry experts sharing their views and thoughts on the Indian M&E sector led by Mr Sudhanshu Vats, Chairman, CII National Committee on Media & Entertainment and Group CEO, Viacom 18 Media Pvt. Ltd.
The seminar follows up on the ‘Make in India’ initiative of the Indian government. The focus was primarily on how India can take leadership position as a "service provider" to the world, in the field of Media and Entertainment. The panel discussed the growth of the Indian M & E sector from a low cost option to a centre of excellence today. How Indian companies like Lakshya Digital are working on some of the most prestigious game titles in the world, showcasing that India is more than capable of delivering the highest quality standards that the world expects. This type of quality effort is going a long way in building the Brand India in the global market.
Speaking on the occasion, Manvendra Shukul, CEO Lakshya Digital said, “I strongly feel that India is fast establishing itself globally as a trustworthy development partner in M&E space. Now it just has to develop a large pool of adequately skilled and efficient talent to deliver on the expectations that have been set. The need is not just for creative talent, but also management talent to create an efficient development pipeline for global ventures.”
The panel also touched upon the effort that needs to go into building large skillbase in this domain as there is a lot of work that the world wants to do in India, by partnering with quality Indian studios like Lakshya Digital.
