Bengaluru, April, 2016: Strengthening its commitment towards sustainable development Cycle Pure Agarbathies, the world’s largest incense sticks manufacturer today announced its support for the second edition of the cricket tournament, “Tiger Cup”. “Tiger Cup” leverages the love for cricket to bring about awareness and encourage sustained efforts to protect the endangered animal The -Tiger. The association will witness Cycle Pure Agarbathies supporting the upcoming Tiger Cup Cricket Tournament to be held in Bengaluru from 14th April 2016 and in the month of June at Mysuru. The event will feature inter-school and inter club competition in the Under 12, Under-14 and Under-17 category.
“Tiger Cup” tournament was conceptualized by former India batsman Sandeep Patil to help spread the word about wildlife conservation and inclusive sustainable development. The objective of the initiative is to encourage the youth to assist the government, largely including the participation of the forest department, to help conserve our forests and wildlife, especially the tiger Apart from spreading awareness the initiative recognizes meritorious forest watchers and guards.
Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Arjun Ranga, Managing Director, Cycle Pure Agarbathies said, “At Cycle Pure Agarbathies, we are continually extending our long-standing support to strengthen our commitment towards sustainable development of the society and ecosystem that we live in – especially to save our forest and wildlife against great odds. After the success we’ve had last year, we believe cricket is an excellent platform to build community bonding and profess our love and concern to save Tigers via strong community participation.”
Sharing his views on bringing in all stakeholders of the society towards the initiative Mr Arjun Ranga said “We are successfully carrying this initiative this year as an annual cricket event and aim to bring together government, communities and forest department to bring awareness about the importance of conservation of tigers. Through cricket, communities at large will unite and work in cohesion with one established, singular goal of sustainable development. ”
Unlike last year, where the tournament was conducted in Bangalore and Mysore only, this year Cycle Pure Agarbathies, have pledged to extend the same to Shivamogga and Belgaum, too. The tournament will be played by Under 12 – 16 teams, Under 14 – 16 teams and Under 17 – 20 teams respectively. Each team will comprise of 20 members and the matches will be played in Round Robin League and Knockout format. The tournament will be held in Bengaluru from 14th April 2016 at Global Academy of Technology, Rajarajeshwari Nagar and Loyola School Ground, Bannerghatta Road.
