New Delhi, 16th April, 2016: Who would have thought after passing from college,one will get to work in a movie. Aashima Mehta,a graduate from JD Institute of Fashion technology got the opportunity of costume designing for an upcoming Punjabi movie Vaapsi.
Aashima Mehta,after completing her diploma in fashion designing from JD institute got the call from Director Rakesh Mehta and she grabbed the opportunity with both hands.
The theme for costume designing of the movie is “Dark Days of Punjab”.
Vaapsi is an upcoming Punjabi drama film directed by Rakesh Mehta,starring Gulshan Grover ,Harish Verma and Sameksha which will be released on June 03, 2016.
The film is a story of those youngsters, who left their country during 1984 massacre to escape themselves and settled into other countries. Now all of them are just want to come back to their native home.
Aashima Mehta,Costume Designer says,” I look at this movie as a stepping stone of my carrier. It was great to design costumes for actor like Gulshan Grover,who is Internationally acclaimed actor and work closely with the Production Designer making sure the costumes fit in with their overall vision and work with the periodic story.”
JD institute of Fashion Technology has given some of the finest fashion designers to the film industry like Rocky.S who has recently worked for Robot 2,Shane& falguni and Mehka Mirpuri to name a few.
