At the event, special screening of survivors will be showcased, followed by witnesses sharing their experiences and stories with a live audience. Former Member of Parliament, Tarlochan Singh and author, Ajit Cour are among some of the survivors of the Partition who will be speaking on a panel at the event. The celebrated author, Urvashi Butalia will moderate the panel. Having written books on the Partition, Butalia feels very strongly about the cause.

Founder of 1947 Partition Archive,  Dr. Guneeta Singh Bhalla says, “The response to the event has been overwhelming. Our aim through “Voices of Partition” is to bring together the witnesses and survivors of the Partition and to provide them a platform to recount their rare stories to the audience.”

“Voices of Partition” will focus on the narratives recounted by witnesses and story collectors from both sides of the border. The stories will take you back to a time of unique and fascinating cultural practices which are largely lost today.
