VESIT is the only technical institution in Mumbai which is authorized by AIA to be a ‘Competency Development Centre’ for conducting this add-on course as part of its Campus Connect Initiative.

Commenting on the employment generating potential of this course, Shri Dinesh Tahiliani, Secretary, VES said, “a new add-on course on ‘Integrated Industrial Automation’ for students of Electronics, Electronics & Communication and Instrumentation has been designed by Automation Industry Association as per the recommendation of industry partners. Having the capacity to create huge employment opportunities for our students, its emphasis on skill building will also enable the students to contribute increasingly to the Make in India campaign initiated by our honorable Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi.”

The course model lays emphasis on flexibility wherein any student from outside the institute can enroll in a course program on a first-come-first-serve basis. Teachers from outside the college faculty and industry professionals can also teach at the various academic sessions of the course.

“AIA is a body formed from various automation companies from India and global giants having operations in the country. The body was formed with the aim of improving operational efficacies and promote skill-building of emerging talent and working professionals in the industry,” stated Mr. Anup Wadhwa, Director, AIA.

Dwelling at length on the Campus Connect initiative, he added, “As part of our Campus Connect program, we have brought together a group of industries to knit together undergraduate courses in integrated automation. The courses will be imparted in a theoretical manner with books, online tutorials, videos, quizzes and the added component of compatible, practical training programs. We are happy to be associated with VESIT in this endeavor.”

As part of its training methodology, the Integrated Automation Course has incorporated six integrated kits for providing hands-on training to participants. The kits comprise modules on Sensors, Pneumatics, Control and Visualisation, Motion Control, Integrated stand-I and Integrated stand-II.
