Bangalore, 3rd March 2016: Vaishnavi Group, as part of its CSR activities and its dedication to giving back to society, will honour a few women of the Prerana Resource Center, a city-based NGO on International Women’s Day at the site of Vaishnavi Gardenia, Jalahalli.
Vaishnavi Group has invited noted film star Abishek Ambareesh (Son of rebel star Ambareesh) as the chief guests for the function. The event will see a celebrity performance for the entertainment of Prerana’s young women. In turn, they too, will put up a cultural program that promises to enthrall audiences.
Prerana is home to 120 orphan women all of whom are physically and mentally challenged. All the women are above 18 years of age and are looked after by the NGO till they are completely independent.
Speaking on organizing this event, Mrs. Asha Govindaraju, Director, Vaishani Group says, “It is heartening to see an NGO like Prerana looking after destitute women and helping them overcome their physical and mental conditions to lead an independent life. Our support to their cause is whole-hearted and we are privileged to celebrate International Women’s Day, to salute the courage and determination of these young women”.
Speaking on the work done at Prerana, Meghna, Managing Coordinator, Prerana says, “We take in women over the age of 18 years and look after them, while equipping them to face the world with their handicaps, yet live independently. Prerana has been adopted by the Vaishnavi Group and it is a huge boost in terms of moral support for our young ladies and us”.

About Prerana Resource Center
With a desire to do something meaningful for society, Ms.Prashantha, founded the Prerana Resource Center in 1994. The center cares for 120 orphan young women, over the age of 18, who are physically and mentally challenged, equipping them with skills to help them become independent, contributing members of society. Six years, inspired by the work of her mother Prashantha, Meghna took over the reins of the Center and runs it today. The organization has flourished immensely and Meghna has received the National Award for her work.
