‘Race for Charity’ at 9th CT Half Marathon 2016 on March 6

Renowned Bollywood Actress Neha Dhupia and Punjabi Singer, Actor Jazzy B and Zora Randhawa to flag off and Lead the race from CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur Campus; The first prize is for Rs.25,000 (Male & Female both), second prize is Rs. 11,000 (Male & Female both), third prize is Rs.5,100 (Male & Female both)

March 3, 2016: After receiving the thunderous response in previous editions of CT Half Marathon, CT Group of Institutions has once again come up with this noble ‘Race for Charity’ event. In this mega event, everyone from sports persons to senior citizens to Olympians, artists, players and also to physically challenged persons has joined for the noble cause.

This year, this race for charity will be held on March 6 from CT Shahpur Campus to CT Maqsudan Campus (distance of 21 kms). Addressing a joint press conference here on Thursday, Famous Punjabi Singer Zora Randhawa (one of the leading performer at the event), Mr. Harpreet Singh (Vice Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) and Mr. Gaurav Khanna (Head of Public Relations, CT Group of Institutions) informed.

The major attraction of the event will be the flag off ceremony by Renowned Bollywood Actress Neha Dhupia and Punjabi Singer, Singer & Actor Jazzy B and Zora Randhawa from CT Shahpur Campus. The other major attraction is the celebrities Leading Punjabi stars Yuvraj Hans, Dilpreet Dhillon, Umang Sharma, Akhil and Sandy Mundra will be joining at CT Maqsudan Campus and would mesmerize the audience with their performances.

Giving information, Mr. Harpreet Singh (Vice Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) said that CT Half Marathon is the prestigious event which aims to raise funds for the deprived members of society from last eight years. The event has been successful throughout. This year as well we are working on the same grounds to continue this wonderful journey. During previous years, we had Ace Athlete S. Milkha Singh, Legendary Singer Gurdas Maan, Renowned Singer Jazzy B, Indian centenarian marathon runner Fauja Singh and various other famous celebrities those who not only graced the event with presence but flagged off the marathon and made their presence felt by taking part in the running spree.

Joining, Famous Punjabi Singer Zora Randhawa said that, it is one of the largest marathons organized by any other educational institutions across Punjab with the participation of people from all walks of life including celebrities, sports personalities, business tycoons and amateur athletes participate in this event.

Adding the other attraction of the event is huge sum of Cash prize for the winners. The first prize is for Rs. 25,000 (Male & Female both), second prize is Rs. 11000 (Male & Female both), third prize is Rs. 5,100 (Male & Female both) and 7 prizes of Rs. 2100. This commendable noble attempt on the part of CT Group has also encouraged the physically challenged students from Prayas (a School for Special students), Apahaj Asharam, Pingalwara and Red Cross Society to participate in the race. There will be a special 100 m race for the students of ‘Prayas’ at CT Maqsudan Campus.

Attractive prizes would be given to the winners for both male and female category and other participating students of Prayas as a token of encouragement and appreciation. Mr. Gaurav Khanna (Head, Public Relations at CT Group of Institutions) informed that to meet the FIRST AID and other medical assistance, the students and staff members of CT Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (CTIPS) and doctors from renowned hospitals would register their presence at every 1Kms of the race. He thanked the celebrities, associates and the volunteers for joining hand with the institutions for this noble cause. “This event is totally dedicated to our society. Everyone should come up and be part of this race to encourage the message to support the physically challenged persons” said Mr. Khanna.
