Five-Time Asian Billiards Champion, to face fellow Indian and sparring partner, Bhaskar Balachandra in Quarterfinals
5 March 2016, Colombo, Sri Lanka: Pankaj Advani continued with his perfect score card, defeating Indonesia's Jaka Kurniawan 4-0, 102-53, 100-6, 101-33 and 102-14 to end at the top of his Group "B" in the stages.
Scoring breaks of 65,89, 75, 53 in his four winning frames in the last match of the group stage, Pankaj Advani gallantly moved into the knock-out stages. With a bye in the round of the last 16, Pankaj Advani will face Indian compatriot & sparring partner, Bhaskar Balachandra in the quarterfinal. Having won all his matches in the group stage with perfect scores Pankaj Advani hopes to carry on that winning momentum through to the final stages.
Not being complacent of his progress, Pankaj Advani was quick to share, "While it's great to go into the knock-out stages without losing a Single frame, experiences prepares me enough to know that the wins start to count now. The competition truly intensifies now with everyone in the knock-out stages having themselves had some strong starts. I will work towards focusing on the game and hopefully continue on this score sheet that I created in the start."
The Winner of the quarter final between Bhaskar and Pankaj Advani will meet the winner of the quarterfinal between Praprut Chaitanasakun and Peter Gilchrist,both World Title holders in Billiards, in the semifinals.
Pankaj Advani plays Bhaskar on the 6th of March 2016 at 16:00 Sri Lankan Time.
