3rd March 2016: Gamesa, a leading player in the renewable energy space, today announced its latest solar order wins for 12 MW in the state of Tamil Nadu thereby totalling its solar portfolio in the country to 60MW. The order entails projects to be implemented for a total of 5 customers in the state of Tamil Nadu. Under this contract, Gamesa will be responsible for engineering & design, supply of inverters, erection and commissioning of the 12MW photovoltaic solar plants which will start its operation by the first quarter of 2016.
Acknowledging the new set of orders in the State, Mr. Ramesh Kymal, Chairman and Managing Director, Gamesa India said, “We are receiving continuous support from the Government and we hope this will drive the sector to achieve exponential growth. The state of Tamil Nadu has always been a great supporter of renewable energy with being a pioneer leader in Wind energy. Given the solar potential in the state, we further hope that the state will embrace solar energy to its fullest potential."
