Bangalore, 16 March 2016: Every two seconds, someone, somewhere is desperately in need of blood. According to reports, More than 29 million units of blood components are transfused every year of that we could only meet up to 1% (approx) of our nation’s demand for blood transfusion’. Observing the need, Inorbit Mall is association with Vydehi Institute of Medical Science and Research Centre is organizing a blood donation drive on 18th and 19th March at Lower Ground- Inorbit Mall, Whitefield.
Volunteers of Vydehi Hospital Blood Bank will interact with visitors and explain about the importance and guidelines of blood donation. Trained volunteers and qualified technicians will be there at the mall for the collection of units. Donors will be selected through a screening process. Donors should be fit, aged between 18-60 and weighing more than 45 kg; a healthy person with no ailments. All donors will be given juices and healthy snack packets post the camp.
This is a voluntary blood donation camp; everyone can donate blood and save lives. Collected units will be stored at Vydehi Hospital Blood Bank that will be used for patients in emergencies and surgeries of super specialty services. This is a social cause everyone should volunteer and feel proud as socially responsible citizens. As a token of appreciation certificates will be given to all the donors.
The event is a part of Inorbit Connect, under which the mall conducts events that cater to various social causes and issues.
