World No. 9 Kidambi Srikanth with his Winner's Trophy


Following his performances at the Premier Badminton League and a semi-final finish at the Far East Malaysia Masters, Srikanth bagged the Syed Modi International Badminton Championships title. Playing his third consecutive final at the Indian Grand Prix Gold Event, Srikanth beat Chinese player Huang Yuxiang 21-13, 14-21, 21-14 to claim the title.


This win is a crucial confidence-booster for Srikanth during the qualifying window for the 2016 Olympics.


Athlete Performances - January 2016

Kilenmeren was on target as he won two silver medals at both the 2016 Sub Jr. National Ranking Archery Tournament and 2016 Sub Jr Nationals. Fellow archer, and GoSports athlete Nishant Kumawat won the Team Gold for ‪the Indian Army at the Sub Jr. Nationals.


Chikkarangappa S recently fought his way back into the Asian Tour with a tied 11th place finish in the Asian Tour Q School Final Stage. His strong finish has earned him an Asian Tour Card for 2016.

Pranjala Yadlapalli kicked off her year with a good showing at the Australian Open where she made it into the 3rd round in Junior Girls' Singles and the pre-quarters in doubles, with her partner Kamran Kaur Thandi.

G Sathiyan finished runner-up at the Senior Nationals. On route to the final, he beat his idol, Sharath Kamal, for the first time ever and described his victory as a dream come true and his scoreline of 4-0 as the icing on the cake.
