Mumbai, 24 February 2016 – As per Dimension Data’s 2016 Connected Enterprise Report that was published today, Indian organisations are comparatively advanced in their use of collaboration technology to drive operational and financial efficiencies.

The report highlights 61% of Indian organisations have a defined collaboration strategy. While, CIOs and IT Directors are the main decision-makers when it comes to choosing and implementing collaboration technology, but they are sharing that responsibility with line of business managers and other non-IT executives within the organisation.

Connected Enterprise Report provides an overview of the state of collaboration implementation strategies, and highlights trends and disruptions in enterprises across the globe. The findings are based on a study of 900 participants in 15 countries, and participants include IT directors, CIOs and line of business managers working in organisations with over 1,000 employees.

KN Murali, Head - Solutions at Dimension Data India Pvt. Ltd., says that “Nearly 30% of Indian organisations that participated in this survey have global offices spread out in many countries compared with 17% of enterprises worldwide. As a result, Indian organisations are more likely to turn to collaboration technology to support complex multinational operations compared with enterprises elsewhere. They are also reliant on collaboration tools to help them connect with a global base of customers and employees as well. This means that for many Indian businesses, their use of it will be to support a comparatively global set of customers, partners, and employees.”

“Enterprises have had varying degrees of success when it comes to the improvements that the use of collaboration technology was intended to provide,” explains Brian Riggs, Principal Analyst - Enterprise Services at research firm, Ovum. “They’ve become adept at improving teamwork and productivity, partly because they can work directly with employees to make this happen. But leveraging collaboration to improve competitiveness or streamline business processes can be a lot more complicated. It involves larger changes to how the company does business, and its role within its industry. These changes can take significant time and effort to achieve.”
