New Delhi, 14th February: People at Sawai Maan Singh Gold Vase Polo Match witnessed a first ever held fashion show by Indian Contemporary Ethnic Designer Pranay Baidya to celebrate the occasion at Jaipur Polo Grounds in the capital city on Sunday February 14. Boosting new trends in Fashion and polo patrons Pranay Baidya became the first designer to showcase his collection among renowned polo players, models and industrialists like Rajat R Khetri, Samir Suhag, Simran Jindal & Angad Kalan.
The special collection from Baidya featured vintage floral French chiffons, printed crepe de chine and delicate mughal embroidery contributing to a look that is elegant yet fiercely classical style. The menswear ensembles featured brightly hued silk kurta’s and printed jackets are inspired by the maharaja’s passion for colour and his effervescent style.
“Indian royalty and their eclectic taste in Fashion & Luxury have always inspired me!” says the Calcutta based designer. The colours chosen for these collections are ripe and Arcadian. Leafy green, poppy red, dusk orange and opulent burgundy recalls the interiors of regal palaces.
The collection seemed to be inspired by Maharaja of Jaipur Sawai Maan Singh and his wife the eternal beauty Gayatri Devi’s style & grace. The royal couple was always seen glamorously dressed in ethnic Indian ensembles wheather attending Polo matches in Jaipur, cocktail receptions in London or holidaying in Paris.
Some of the renowned personalities who attended the event were Shazia Ilmi, Shomnath Bharti, Shalini Pasricha.
